Bubble Mania

So you have to sometimes just let your kids have a little fun even if it is a hassle or makes a big mess. The other night the boys went to Grandma and Grandpa Morleys house. When I went to pick them up they wanted to stay to make cookies. So I told them they could stay and I would go get their bath stuff and pajamas. When I got back the boys took a bath in Grandmas big jetted bath tub. Gavin and Bryson washed up and got out right away. Ethan stayed in and wanted the jets on. I forgot that they have soft water and we had used quite a bit of soap. After the jets came on the bubbles were out of control. Ethan could not stop laughing. There were so many bubbles. You could barely see his face out of the bubbles. Then the other boys wanted to get back in. I had already put their pj's on but I thought oh well. I took all the water out and then the other boys got in the bubble mania. They had so much fun. They threw bubbles at each other and at the wall.

Gavin had his first week back to preschool. He was so excited to go. His teacher is Miss Farrah. He is so excited because his classroom has a little potty and sink. His class is called the Sweet Peas. He thinks that he is in kindergarten like Ethan. The other day he said "Mom am I in kindergarten or preschool?" I told him "what do you think you are in?" He said I am in kindergarten preschool. I said that is right. I figured it doesn't hurt him to think this.

So I am on this new diet that is absolutely ridiculous. You are supposed to lose 9 pounds in 11 days. It is a brutal diet. Yesterday all I could eat was fruit all day. I felt so sick. Worse part of all is I have been doing the diet for 2 days and only lost 1 pound. Hah! I will keep going I guess. It stinks that you can't just eat whatever you want. Life is great with food that is delicious.

The boys start school pretty soon. They are so excited. Ethan starts kindergarten on August 25th and Gavin starts preschool on August 19th. Now only if I could find someone to take the monster Bryson for a few hours. I never thought that I would be a Mom that would get emotional when their child goes to kindergarten. But the other day I was driving by Ethans school and I felt sick like I was going to throwup. I wonder if he is nervous to go to school. He is so ready though. He already knows how to read. He is such a smarty pants. I will post pictures of the boys on their first day of school.

Soda for Sale

Hey this is my first blog so hopefully it works. I am going to try to post something at least once a week. We had a great learning experience in parenting this week with Ethan (5). Earlier this week we received a Target ad in the mail. Ethan looked at it and saw a new Star Wars leapster game. He was so excited he wanted the game so bad. He even got on the computer to see how to play it. The game was $25 and I really didn't want to spend the money on it. So I told him that he could do chores to earn the money so he could buy it. Later on that day I needed to take a shower when I got out of the shower he was in the corner talking on the phone. I asked him who he was talking to. He told me no one. So I checked my dialed calls and it said George ( his grandma). He called her and asked her to buy the leapster game. That little stinker. He called her because he knew that she would buy it for him and he wouldn't have to chores to earn money. So I called his Grandma and told her to please not buy it for him. She could give him chores to earn money instead. So on Thursday he went and picked up fallen apples in their yard for 5 cents per apple. Ethan picked up 250 apples. So he earned $12.50. Then on Friday Grandma gave him sodas and candy to sell at the park. He woke up so excited to get out and sell. It was so funny. All the boys were out at the park waving the cars down. When the people would stop Gavin (3) would say "what would you like"? Who wouldn't stop when 3 little boys are waving at you. Ethan ended up making $30. It seems like a big process to go through for a lesson about money. But I just wanted him to realize that we have to work to get the things we want in life. And I am just grateful for his Grandma for going along with the idea even though it would have been alot easier to just go buy the game. On friday night he went and purchased the game. He was so proud of himself that he earned the money to buy it. He has hardly stopped playing the game since we got it.
